God knows the real you and I, He knows everything about us, warts and all, and still wants to love us into wanting more of Him and becoming more like Him and isnвЂ™t it wonderful that He chooses вЂloveвЂ™ to melt our hardened hearts, rather that force us into His kingdom like a tyrant or a dictator, although He is God of the universe?ДЄ verse in the bible in the book of Hebrews says: I want to give Him вЂmore than a songвЂ™ for вЂa song in itselfвЂ™ is not what he requires, just like the writer of that other well known song вЂIвЂ™m coming back to the heart of worshipвЂ™, sings. HeвЂ™s committed to us, are we ready to be truly committed to Him? Are we ready for Him to be our first thought as we wake up in the mornings? For Him to be the first one that we run to, the one we allow to comfort us when we hurt? The one we allow into the deepest recesses of our hearts? Are we ready to really rely on Him, for everything, to trust Him, even when He leads us down painful and difficult paths, and take Him at His word? To love the things that please Him, and loathe the things that grieve Him? Are we ready to put Him first, before our own desires? These are some of the questions that rose to the surface for me as I listened to this beautiful song. He wants the words of those songs that we sing to be real, and the truth of the matter is that HeвЂ™s the only one that can really help us to love Him with all our hearts.

He wants more than just a casual acquaintance with you, He wants a long-term relationship. God wants all of me, all of you, not just a part. I thought about the many times I had sung love songs to God, only to find myself drifting away in the next breath, and holding onto my life and my selfish desires. As I listened, I agonised over my natural self, that part of me that needs to be constantly brought under subjection to the will of God and His Holy Spirit that part of me that needs to be tamed.

As the words of this beautiful song washed over my soul, I couldnвЂ™t help but examine if this was true in my own life, had I really surrendered all to Him, withholding nothing?
